    Planting the Garden

Well, we have done it!  It might not be a big thing for most but for me it is HUGE!!  We planted everything we could plant today.  I really haven't gardened much and the little that I did do was dismal at best.  We had some wonderful friends come over from Alabama (Jochanan & Lisa) (Thank you guys!!) on Sunday (1st day) and help us by roto tilling (I don't think that is spelled right but oh well) and forming raised beds.  They were a huge BLESSING!  Anyway I think this is going to be a great garden.  I am so looking forward to working in it all summer long and then getting a fall garden going!  We planted peas, snow peas, cabbage (both red and green), broccolli, cauliflower, spinach, kale, all kinds of lettuces, potatoes, carrots, beets, radishes, and some peppers from seed.  Oh, I am so excited.  Just wanted to share!  Blessings to you all!  Oh, by the way all the children helped and had a great time!  Hope to put some pictures on.

If you can find some old carpet and cut it to fit in between the beds, it keeps the weeds from growing in the paths and saves on mowing. It also lets water through. I love it for a raised bed garden.

It looks like you put in your cool weather garden. What are you planning on for the warm weather one that gets planted in a few weeks? I wish I had a garden. I'm going to help Paula with her little bitty one.

May G-d bless your day with shalom, joy and strength.

    Love and shalom,
